Summary: In this "frighteningly addictive" paranormal romance saga, there's a war raging between vampires and their slayers. Here are the stories of a secret band of brothers like no other--six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. And now a dutiful twin must choose between two lives...
Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive, and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.
As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself. She is drawn to the noble responsibility behind the emotionally scarred male. But Phury has never allowed himself to know pleasure or joy. As the war with the Lessening Society grows grim, tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, and Phury must decide between duty and love...

Review: I wasn't really sure what to expect in Lover Enshrined. Honestly, I've only read the first book and that was a long time ago. And according to my goodreads rating, I really enjoyed it but I actually kind of forgot what this series is even about. And jumping from book one to book six isn't exactly a smart idea but oh well. Turns out, you don't really need to read it in order though it would save you a lot of time of trying to figure who and what everyone is talking about.
I wasn't expecting to like this book. Mainly because before I started the book I checked the reviews on my kindle and a lot of them were with 2 stars or less. But once I read the book I'm convinced they were reading a different book because I really liked Lover Enshrined. Phury is always doing things for other people. Of course, they don't really see it that way considering Phury spends the majority of his day smoking in his room. But that's because smoking helps keep all the pain and worry away, at least for a little while.
I felt bad for Phury. I know that he made a lot of mistakes but I feel like the brotherhood was really hard on him. But then again, he kind of needed it to really wake up. And now he's the Primale and has to father like fifty kids and he's never even had sex before. Yeah, I know, I freaked when I read that but in the 'Oh my god could this guy be any sexier' kind of way. What makes it worse for him though is that he starts falling for Cormia, his first Chosen he's supposed to mate with. And that is definitely not allowed.
Cormia is really nice. I liked her from the first time we meet her in the book and her constant need to help others only makes me like her more. She's never been in a world with so much color and things to do so it was actually entertaining to see her reactions to things we always take for granted like television and simple things like flowers and food. She's wants Phury more then she knows she's allowed to but she can't help it. She wants to be more then just some random Chosen he has to impregnate but can they really be together and forget about their obligations to everyone else?
Here's what I didn't like about the book: way to many different point of views. I felt like I never really got to get into one persons story before it changed to somebody else. And if I'm completely honest, I wish we got to see more of Phury and Cormia. It's supposed to be their story and yet I felt like they were minor characters in the story. I really wanted to read more about them and less about all these other people. I like that we got to read about the other characters but I feel like they should have small part and not such a big portion of the book. But I do get the point to why she does it and I know it's something the author does a lot with her books so I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
Overall, this book was great. There is so much shit going down in this book that I couldn't even begin to explain it. And even though I know what happened to a lot of the other characters I still want to go and read all the previous books. I love the connection the brothers have with each other and it's probably one of my favorite things about this series. Well so far anyway.
